ABOUT US
Ultrasound imaging is the first-line tool in clinical diagnosis. Quantitative ultrasound benefits clinical diagnosis. Thanks to advances in modern ultrasound systems, we utilize ultrasound RF signals backscattered from tissues to develop novel computational methods and parametric imaging techniques based on speckle statistics for tissue characterization. Integration of the proposed algorithms/software with ultrasound machines for a variety of medical applications is also our interest. We welcome students who are interested in ultrasound imaging to join our lab.
Research directions
Our mission is to resolve the unmet needs in the ultrasound diagnosis of liver diseases, including hepatic steatosis, steatohepatitis, liver fibrosis, and liver tumor/cancer. We focus on developing
- Ultrasound backscattering analysis and modeling
- Ultrasound parametric imaging
- Ultrasound tissue characterization
- Point-of-care ultrasound
